What is Yoga Therapy?

Twisted Root Yoga specializes in managing the symptoms associated with different illnesses or physical impairments through yoga. We design a working plan to approach the condition you’re looking to manage. You can think of yoga therapy as a vehicle to transition from your current state of imbalance to a state of equilibrium, physically and/or mentally. You define the path of your own therapy by setting goals, and Twisted Root Yoga supplies the tools that can help you meet your goals.

Physical Therapy through Yoga
Twisted Root Yoga is accepting referrals from your healthcare Provider for Physical Therapy integrating Yoga Therapy. Daniel Quinn, our Physical Therapist, is trained extensively in orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation (adults and children), and specializes in alignment and the physiological benefits of yoga as a trained Iyengar yoga instructor.

Physical rehabilitation through yoga offers the opportunity to integrate your body’s physical needs with your yoga instructor and Physical Therapist. Combining the two disciplines minimizes time constraints, encourages easy communication between healthcare Providers and prepares you for group yoga classes or other sports/activities you are interested in. As you become more comfortable with your body in yoga, take the next step in joining our group class yoga curriculum. This is a recommended transition to continue your growth while maintaining the balance you acquired through yoga therapy sessions. Please visit our “Studio Offerings” page for more information on group classes.
